Number One Lazy Merchant of the Beast World

Number One Lazy Merchant of the Beast World is a fun and light read. Only a little dog-blood conflict happens here, and any dispute gets resolved without much effort. You would enjoy how the merchant interacts with his clients. The side characters are fun to read. The principal and the 18 masters are my favorites, following the spectators and customers of the store itself.

I appreciated the story and adored the energy stones concept to the extent that I binged and lost lots of sleep. I liked the story of how MC instantly became a famous and incredibly loved carver, even more than the romance!

The romance between ML and MC was OK, not too bad but not too excellent either, just sufficient. There was fluff, but it didn't quite catch me. Usually, it is because of the writing style. In this story, it was also because it took so long before MC finally became human. Some parts felt draggy and not so interesting (before MC started selling his carvings), and some features needed to be faster (especially those that dealt with the villains in the story).

I pity that the author didn't flesh out any of the villains. As a result, there was little plot. Villains are 1-dimensional characters at best, slightly better than a passerby feeling. ML wiped them out in 1-2 chapters. The writing of those parts was so rushed and felt amateurish. Not well executed at all.

Another thing it felt bland and repetitive was that MC's obsessed with carving ML in his beast form and MC buying so many gold things. However, the description of the carvings is so vivid I wish I had the skill to draw it from its portrayal.

I did enjoy some of the face-slapping, though. Number One Lazy Merchant of the Beast World was enjoyable and entertaining. It's a good read if you're into this trope. If not, there is much better stuff to use your time on.
