I’m Not Human is an alternate universe, the expansion of the story of The King's Game. It might have some similarities initially, but it became its own as the story continued. This story is full of warmth.

The MC's connection with his parent Zergs is very heartening. Despite being low-grade Zergs with the lowest intellect, their demeanor, efforts, and care for MC drove me to tears. I still recall their sadness and reluctance when they're about to send MC away for him to live on a better, more beautiful planet instead of staying on a deserted planet with them. It's so painful. That's the genuine love of the parents! It's far more satisfactory than the romance between the central couple.

What hooked me into reading this novel is the sincerity between MC and his zergs, either with his parent zergs, capital planet zergs, or those from the grey tower. As the king, the MC loves his Zergs dearly and is gentle toward them. At the same time, all the Zergs reciprocate that feeling, too; hence the atmosphere is always warm and loving. On the other hand, I couldn't care much about the ML; although his history is equally miserable, I'm just not so enamored of him. Still, they're adorable together. They in the extras are super cute too.

Whenever I read other novels depicting the Zergs as cold-blooded and cruel, I think about I’m Not Human, and I was like: "..... The Zergs are cute...." (It just has that effect on me.) Try to give this novel a shot.
