Return of Mount Hua Sect is a perfect mix of action and comedy, with a side plate of adventure and expanding suspense with each arc. The MC is a rogue through and through, and everyone has a love-hate affinity with him, from friends to his seniors and even to adversaries.

I love that it's got a new take on the whole 'entering a sect and becoming stronger' trope, and at the same time, it is hilarious because the MC was an ardent but somewhat thick musclehead in the past. Yet it, too, has a particular profoundness to it, thanks to his attachment and commitment to his old and new friends and his pride in the sect.

The MC is my favorite thing about Return of Mount Hua Sect; I like his character and how he deals with things. He's comical, but he's also earnest about what he does. He's the sort of MC who is very direct and will do what he wants to get things accomplished; he doesn't care too much about what others think of him. This propensity leads to many amusing circumstances, and the exchanges between the MC and the side characters are entertaining. I feel proud to observe the blossoming of MC and peers throughout the novel.

Return of Mount Hua Sect usually takes an easygoing and joking tone, but when this novel wants to get solemn, you better be ready for some epic moments. So, it is well-rounded, humorous, fresh, moving, and a pleasure to read. The translation is even top-notch and comes out nifty fast. What's not to dig?
