Mr. Melancholy Wants to Live a Peaceful Life
Mr. Melancholy Wants to Live a Peaceful Life |
Wow. The characters in Mr. Melancholy Wants to Live a Peaceful Life had depth, growth, and a happy ending. The story made sense and had slight enigmas mingled in. Most individuals oppose the MC in this story: he's mentally unbalanced. Truthfully, though, it's sometimes the imperfections that make the character.
Our MC is a "saboteur" --> a transmigrator. He has a bit of a "black-bellied" personality. The story's setting is in a world where transmigrators that enter the world are a threat and wreaks havoc in the world, hence the name "saboteur." The plot of the novel is intricate and original. There are also several in-depth pieces and thought-inducing affairs that transpire. The dialogues, character settings, and story for each character are exciting and well-thought-out. Everything has significance (we gradually uncover that afterward).
I was a tad dubious about the "seme protagonist" (MC is the gong), but frankly, there isn't much focus on their "dissimilarities," so to speak. MC and ML's natures are more on the OP side than anything, which I loved.
The relationship between the main characters was very nice to read without going overboard. Each had a stable trust and mutual respect for the other, ranging from physical to emotional well-being. Even if each had defects or certain not-very-good personality traits, they did not let that affect their romantic relationship, or instead, they welcomed those flaws in a range in which both could accept them. Even throughout the novel, they always discover details of the other (it is impossible to know all the details of a person's life even if it is your partner) that the other party would not let see with the naked eye without proper observation, care, and analysis.
While in terms of power, each of them was OP in their way, it was not excessive to the point of making the novel boring and predictable. Each character's ability had its restrictions regarding power, range, and knowledge of their ability. And having an organization as standardized as the one to which the MC belonged, most of the characters' battles had a prior preparation and strategic analysis based on the observation, expertise, and records of them and their predecessors.
Each character was memorable and distinguishable. Even I got to have several ships because of their significant interaction.
Suppose you want a novel that is not so heavy but not so meaningless in its plot and character development, Mr. Melancholy Wants to Live a Peaceful Life novel for you.
