If you like transmigration novels that involve a cultivation setting and teacher/student relationship then It's Not Easy Being a Master is something you should read.
This story is about your typical MC transmigrating into canon fodder who is about to die by the blackened ML novel so he has to hug his thighs to survive.
I thought it was funny how hardworking the main character was to repair his relationship with the male lead. Overall, it is entertaining to watch the two characters develop feelings for each other and how those feelings continue to grow with different trials and tribulations. There are some unexpected plot developments, and I am not sure if I felt all of them were necessary, but overall this novel is good. I was highly engaged throughout reading the whole story!
However, there is still lots of confusion during the reading, which makes it quite bothersome to keep on (though it is cleared after some chapters). The romance between the two is sweet, and the characters have some good build.
The ML doesn't forgive the MC for what his ancient Master did to him (even though it technically isn't MC's fault) even after 3 years of coaxing and hugging thighs. For a reborn blackened ML, it is accurate.
Overall, some storylines will probably make you skim some chapters. However, some were really interesting! But otherwise, It's Not Easy Being a Master is a fine novel you can read if you have nothing to do.
